The project is located on the Tallacootra Shear Zone which defines the margin between the Fowler Domain and Christie Domain of the western Gawler Craton. It also encompasses the entire western basal contact zone of the Yalata Layered Intrusive Complex, which is comprised of Ultra-Mafic to Felsic intrusives and extrusives which have undergone multiple phases of deformation due to the transpressional collision plate boundary stress regime.

It is the same setting of transpressional forces on Ultra Mafic intrusives hosted in meta- sediments as that of the Thompson Nickel Belt, Manitoba, Canada, which is responsible for the emplacement and enrichment of up to 18 Nickel-Copper (Ni-Cu) deposits including two world class deposits, Thompson and Birchtree. The Thompson Nickel Belt analogue is also the model used for the recent Nova nickel discovery by Sirius Resources Limited (ASX: SIR) in the Fraser Range, Western Australia.

Fowler Resources Pty Ltd has identified up to 10 targets within the project area prospective for Ni-Cu and 1 target prospective for Iron Oxide–Copper–Gold–Uranium (IOCGU). Fowler Resources proposes a staged exploration program of data review and geophysical modelling followed by a ground based detailed gravity survey over the priority targets to identify relatively dense bodies which may represent massive sulphides in ultra-mafic intrusives and adjacent structural traps.

The project area is also highly prospective for Heavy Mineral and Zircon Sands, Uranium, Potash and Lignite.
Fowler Resources are proposing a detailed gravity survey and preliminary drill testing of targets.
